Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kevin McGuire (ranked 1268 p4p, 1255 weight class) and Kay Bone (ranked 64 p4p, 63 weight class). McGuire comes into the arena with Johnny Cash - God's Gonna Cut You Down blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kay Bone!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bone sizes up McGuire with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Bone throws the left hand but McGuire avoids the punch easily.
A jab from Bone misses.
Bone pulls out of a head kick attempt.
We've been informed that Bone has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
McGuire lands a leg kick that knocks Bone off balance momentarily.
Bone takes one to the side of the head.

It looks like Kay Bone has been cut.
McGuire needs to keep his hands up - Bone had a free shot at his head there.
McGuire misses with an uppercut. Bone saw that one coming.

McGuire doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
A head kick misses from Bone.
McGuire lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
McGuire thuds a left hand into Bone's body.
Bone fakes high and swings low for a body shot but McGuire manages to avoid it.
A nice leg kick from McGuire, right into the meat of the thigh.
McGuire keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Bone throws a head kick but McGuire moves out of range.
A little feinted left hand from McGuire on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Bone lands with a good body shot.
Bone throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Bone avoids the body shot from McGuire.
McGuire throws a right hand that misses
and Bone counters with a left to the body.
A slow jab from Bone misses its intended target.

McGuire closes the distance and clinches.

Bone's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
McGuire swings for the body but Bone moves out of range.
Nice uppercut lands for Bone. That snapped McGuire's head back.
Bone has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Bone has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from McGuire.
Bone throws a sloppy body shot
and McGuire counters with a nice low kick that buckles Bone's knee momentarily.
McGuire throws a leg kick but Bone sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Bone feints a counter leg kick.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A slapping leg kick lands for McGuire.
A low kick from Bone misses
and McGuire counters with an outside leg kick.
McGuire tries to clinch but fails miserably
and McGuire takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Bone on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
McGuire closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Bone! McGuire dives in looking to finish! Bone is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kevin McGuire!
