Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jerome Steel (ranked 1835 p4p, 895 weight class) and Dan Donovan (ranked 82 p4p, 45 weight class). Jerome Steel could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Dan Donovan's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 29 - 32 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jerome Steel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 12 - 0, fighting out of London, Dan Donovan!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Winston Howard and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steel is looking to slow Donovan down with leg kicks.
Steel tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Donovan was well out of range. Poor timing from Steel.
Donovan tries to counter with a clinch but Steel shakes him off and moves away.
Jerome Steel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Donovan has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Steel finds it's way round the side to connect with Donovan's head.

It looks like Dan Donovan has been cut.
Donovan ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Steel moves away.
Donovan throws a combination that misses
and Steel counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Donovan takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Donovan scores with a crisp jab that stopped Steel in his tracks.
Steel misses with a looping right.
A low kick lands for Steel.
Steel cracks Donovan with a right hand to the side of the head.
Donovan takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Steel misses with a wild body shot.
Nice defenses there by Steel.
Steel scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Steel lands with a good body shot.
Donovan swings for the body but Steel moves out of range.
Donovan throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Steel throws a head kick that misses
and Donovan counters with a nice body shot.
Steel with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Donovan keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A head kick misses from Steel.
Steel sets himself, and Donovan steps forward looking for the clinch! Steel avoids it this time.
Steel rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Donovan counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Steel is breathing heavily.

Donovan clinches.
Donovan stalls.
Donovan lands an uppercut.
Still in the clinch, Donovan scores with a nice short uppercut.
Donovan lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Donovan blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Donovan is trying to force a seperation but Steel has the dominant position.
Donovan tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Steel's elbow.
Donovan misses with a punch to the body.
Donovan throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Steels head.
Donovan is trying to push Steel away but Steel has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Donovan misses with a punch to the body.
A left hand lands to the body for Steel.
Donovan blocks a body shot from Steel.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Steel creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Steel misses with a hook to the ribs.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Steel pushes Donovan back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Steel gets control of Donovan's arms and successfully pulls guard. Steel will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Donovan lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Donovan trying to control the position from guard on top but Steel is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Donovan's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Steel is trying to keep Donovan in close.

Donovan throws a big right hand that misses.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Donovan trying to control but Steel is working from the bottom.
Steel is trying to keep Donovan in close.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Steel managing to control the position.
Donovan postures up in Steel's guard and throws a big left but Steel blocks it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Steel working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Donovan.
Steel wants to sweep here but Donovan controlling him for the moment.
Donovan trying to control but Steel is working from the bottom.
Steel has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Donovan working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Steel is pulling down on Donovan's head. It's preventing any offense from Donovan, at least for the moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Steel looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Donovan on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Steel misses the body punch
and Donovan cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

It looks like Jerome Steel has been cut.
Donovan ducks under a wild hook from Steel.
Steel throws a lazy right hand but Donovan sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Steel moves away from the strike by Donovan.
Donovan scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Steel lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Steel keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Steel was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Donovan takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

That has opened up Dan Donovan's cut even more.
Steel slips under a jab from Donovan.
Donovan has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Steel.
Donovan closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Donovan ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
A punch lands to the side of Donovan 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Jerome Steel is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Donovan misses with a body shot.
Steel slips under a jab.
A telegraphed right hand from Steel misses the target.
Donovan takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jerome Steel will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Donovan slips a straight right by Steel.
Donovan throws an overhand right that lands on Steel's shoulder, as Steel tries to avoid the shot.
Steel throws a body shot but no joy.
Horrible takedown attempt by Donovan or perhaps it was just good defense by Steel, which made it look bad.

Donovan closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Donovan lands in his opponent's guard.
Steel will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Steel is trying to control the position from the bottom.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Donovan accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Steel looking to hit a scissor sweep but Donovan is one step ahead there.
Steel is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Donovan can do anything to dispel that myth.

Steel drops an elbow to the side of Donovan's head.
Steel missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Steel looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Steel throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Steel throwing shots but Donovan is blocking nicely.
Donovan wants to control but Steel is keeping busy.
Steel lands strikes from half guard.
Donovan flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Steel frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Dan Donovan's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Dan Donovan's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Jerome Steel!
A relieved looking Jerome Steel thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
