Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Umar Kwabena!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, John Karter!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kwabena lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Umar Kwabena seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kwabena tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Karter paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Karter misses with a kick to the body
and Kwabena counters with an outside leg kick.

Karter flicks out a counter leg kick but Kwabena steps away.

and Kwabena counters with a good low kick that Karter was not able to check.

Kwabena moves out of range of the body kick from Karter.

Kwabena moves into range and clinches up with Karter.
Kwabena digs a right hand underneath Karter's ribcage. Karter let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Karter misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Kwabena.
Karter lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Karter struggles to land a body shot inside as Kwabena controls his hands.
Kwabena is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Karter is defending well.

Kwabena turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Kwabena content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Karter is not content to let Kwabena control the position.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Umar Kwabena will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Karter drops Kwabena with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Kwabena looks back up at him and smiles so Karter waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

and Karter counters with a nice right hand that sends Kwabena toppling to the canvas! Kwabena scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Karter finish him?!
Oh Kwabena is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Karter has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kwabena darts in and clinches Karter up against the cage.

Karter makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Kwabena has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.
