Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paulo Blikstein (ranked 2154 p4p, 1678 weight class) and Phillip Terrell (ranked 321 p4p, 249 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Phillip Terrell enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 18 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Paulo Blikstein! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 18 - 22 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Phillip Terrell! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shigeki Sano and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A swing and a miss from Terrell. Terrell scores with a nice right hand.
Blikstein shoots in and drives through. Terrell sprawls well. A looping hook to the body misses from Terrell. Blikstein does a little dance to reset his feet. Terrell has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Terrell uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Blikstein. Terrell misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Terrell lands a nice shot to the body.
A jab lands there for Terrell. Terrell getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Terrell is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Terrell misses with a looping left. Terrell scores with a hook. Terrell swings and misses with a shot to the body and Blikstein counters with a stiff right hand. This has been an exciting period of action! Terrell paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. We've been hearing reports that Blikstein has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Terrell scores with a hook to the body. Blikstein takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
That's one minute gone in the round. Terrell thuds a left hand into Blikstein's body. Terrell throws a leg kick which misses Blikstein's front leg but catches the back leg as Blikstein tries to avoid it. Blikstein takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Blikstein takes a shot right to the bread basket. Phillip Terrell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A nice leg kick from Terrell, right into the meat of the thigh.
Blikstein avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Terrell moves away from the strike by Blikstein. Donk. Terrell catches Blikstein right on the button with a cross. Terrell is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Blikstein had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush. Blikstein fails to land with a series of punches.
Terrell is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Blikstein throws a body shot but no joy. Terrell lands a jab to Blikstein's midsection. Terrell works Blikstein's body with a nice hook. Terrell bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Blikstein lands with a kick to the temple. Terrell shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Blikstein on the wrong end of a nice hook. Blikstein avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Blikstein went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Decent striking displayed by Terrell there. Blikstein takes one to the side of the head.
Terrell catches Blikstein with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Terrell moves into the clinch. A bit of stalling here from Blikstein.

An uppercut to the body lands inside from Terrell. Terrell throws a head punch that misses. Terrell lands with a short shot to the head. Blikstein blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Terrell is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Blikstein is keeping busy. Blikstein is pushing Terrell up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Terrell thuds a left hand into Blikstein's body. Blikstein avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Terrell scores with a shot to the body.
Blikstein tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Terrell lands a jab. Terrell connects with an inside leg kick. Blikstein uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Terrell.
Terrell tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Terrell avoids a punch combination nicely.
Terrell lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Blikstein throws a looping overhand right but Terrell ducks down to avoid it. Terrell tries to clinch but Blikstein is having none of it. A little feinted left hand from Blikstein on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Donk. Terrell catches Blikstein right on the button with a cross. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Jab, jab by Terrell - just one landing. Blikstein avoids the body shot from Terrell.

Terrell throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Decent striking displayed by Terrell there. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Phillip Terrell dominated that round. That's time! Blikstein's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Blikstein steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Terrell. Blikstein is looking to counter with head kicks. Blikstein ducks under a wild hook from Terrell. Terrell jabs at Blikstein's body. Blikstein walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Terrell lands a really nice looking cross but Blikstein seems unphased.

Terrell scores with a jab to the body. Terrell scores with a crisp jab that stopped Blikstein in his tracks. Terrell with the inside leg kick. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Terrell misses with a jab, cross combination.
Blikstein looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger. Phillip Terrell seems to be getting the better of the standup. Blikstein misses with a wild combination.

That's one minute gone in the round. Terrell takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Terrell gets caught flat footed, as Blikstein shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Blikstein is looking to work some ground and pound but Terrell has wrist control. Blikstein trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Blikstein pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Terrell is keeping the position for now. Terrell manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Blikstein manages to get himself to full guard.
Blikstein can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Terrell controls the pace.

Blikstein trying to control the position here. Blikstein is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Blikstein looking to control but Terrell passes into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Blikstein makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Blikstein. Terrell showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Terrell wants to pass the guard but Blikstein is keeping the position. Terrell stopping the sweep attempt from Blikstein. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Terrell's corner is telling him to maintain position. The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup. Terrell's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Blikstein slips a jab from Terrell. A lazy left from Terrell finds it's target. Terrell with a nice cross. Terrell uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Blikstein. Blikstein ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Terrell pushes Blikstein away with a front kick. Phillip Terrell is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Terrell misses with a wild body shot. Terrell clinches with his opponent.

Phillip Terrell showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Blikstein's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round! Terrell lets loose with a powerful body kick. Blikstein will feel that in the morning. Terrell has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Blikstein throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Terrell connects with an inside leg kick. Terrell fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Terrell swinging wildly here.

Terrell fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Blikstein has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Terrell throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Terrell feints and then cracks Blikstein's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Blikstein down. Terrell swings and misses with a shot to the body and Blikstein counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Blikstein checks a leg kick nicely. An attempted straight right counter from Blikstein misses the target. Blikstein swats away the attempt to clinch by Terrell. Blikstein doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Paulo Blikstein has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Terrell lands a jab to the nose. Blikstein misses with an uppercut. Terrell saw that one coming. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Nice shot by Terrell. Terrell throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Danga de danga de dang - Terrell scores with a four punch combination! Terrell uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Blikstein. Terrell cracks Blikstein with a good jab. Terrell falls off balance throwing a combination
and Blikstein counters with a stiff right hand. Terrell changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Blikstein uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Terrell.
Blikstein moves away from the strike by Terrell. Blikstein attempts a counter takedown but Terrell avoids it well and moves away. Blikstein is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Terrell blocks a head kick by Blikstein.
Terrell feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Bliksteins jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Blikstein takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Terrell looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Phillip Terrell is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Blikstein looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Terrell lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Terrell looks to score with a jab to the body but Blikstein is just out of range. Blikstein steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Terrell. Terrell is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Terrell fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Terrell scores with a decent looking hook. Blikstein takes one on the chin but seems OK.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Blikstein on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Terrell swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Blikstein ducks right into an uppercut from Terrell. Terrell slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Terrell getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Terrell tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Blikstein was well out of range. Poor timing from Terrell. Blikstein drops down looking for a counter takedown but Terrell sprawls and moves away. Blikstein walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Blikstein stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Terrell. Terrell throws a hook to the side of Blikstein's head but Blikstein sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Blikstein takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Blikstein looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Terrell connects with a right hand. Blikstein shakes it off.
And that's the end of the fight! Phillip Terrell comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Terrell has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
