Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Maximus Meridius (ranked 1922 p4p, 2546 weight class) and Bruno Miranda (ranked 256 p4p, 333 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Maximus Meridius!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bruno Miranda!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Tiny Johnson and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slow jab from Miranda misses its intended target.
Meridius swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
We've been told by Meridius's head coaches at Punch Fit that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Miranda waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Meridius.
Miranda looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
A little feinted left hand from Meridius on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Meridius defending well as Miranda loads up on a big left hand.
Meridius is looking to counter punch.
Bruno Miranda seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Miranda throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Meridius stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Miranda throws a hook but Meridius blocks it.
It looked like Meridius wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Miranda fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Meridius manages to avoid it.
Miranda keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Miranda jabbing away but nothing is landing.
A looping hook to the body misses from Miranda. Meridius does a little dance to reset his feet.
Miranda misses with an uppercut
and Meridius counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Miranda misses with a two punch combination.
Meridius appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Miranda swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Meridius swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Miranda with a lazy takedown attempt
and Meridius counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
It looks like Bruno Miranda has been cut.
Miranda moves to clinch but Meridius breaks away
and Meridius counters with a huge left! Miranda is in big trouble! He's backing up but Meridius isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Miranda from any more damage. A dominating finish by Meridius!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Maximus Meridius!
After winning the bout, Maximus Meridius thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
