Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Putte Ro (ranked 1177 p4p, 1307 weight class) and Danny Cruz (ranked 74 p4p, 82 weight class). Cruz has chosen FEEL SOMETHING as his entrance music. Danny Cruz has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Putte Ro! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Danny Cruz! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, William Peck and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cruz throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Ro counters with a nice uppercut. Ro moves away from the strike by Cruz. Ro fails miserably with a takedown attempt. A jab lands there for Cruz. Cruz misses with a left hand and Ro counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Cruz won't allow Ro to pass to mount. Ro thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Cruz's head. Cruz won't allow Ro to pass to mount. Ro not landing any meaningful shots this time. Ro trying to pass the guard but Cruz defending well. Cruz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ro. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Ro is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Cruz has managed to free his arm - good work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cruz tries to get to full guard but Ro has control of the leg. Ro is looking to advance position but Cruz won't allow it. Cruz felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Ro missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Cruz is defending against the submission attempts here by Ro.
Cruz is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Ro has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Ro is stalling here. Cruz is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Ro seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Cruz has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Ro is trying to control Cruz's posture but Cruz avoids it. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Cruz gets to mount! Ro was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Ro has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ro turns into Cruz and is now in his guard.
Cruz keeping moving, preventing Ro from controlling successfully. Cruz is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ro missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Cruz is pulling down on Ro's head. It's preventing any offense from Ro, at least for the moment. Cruz working a defensive guard here.

Cruz controls Ro momentarily but Ro frees himself. Ro advances to half guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Cruz is refusing to be controlled, as Ro sits in half guard. Ro is really struggling to control Cruz but he's trying to hold on to the position. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Putte Ro dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Cruz ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ro moves away. Ro connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Cruz scores with a nice head shot. Ro lands a slapping body shot.
Ro tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Cruz swivels and escapes. Cruz flicks out a counter leg kick but Ro steps away. No luck with that takedown attempt from Ro. Cruz misses with a straight right. Cruz lands a big right hand that sends Ro crashing to the mat! Cruz stays standing though and waves Ro back to his feet!
Ro is rocked! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Cruz fires a straight punch through the middle that cracks Ro square on the jaw! Damn, Ro is out cold on his feet and topples face first to the canvas! Wow, I haven't seen a knockout that brutal in a long time!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:44 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Danny Cruz! Danny Cruz decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
