Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lucas Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 1111 weight class) and Galileo Galilei (ranked 0 p4p, 60 weight class). Galileo Galilei has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lucas Maia!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Galileo Galilei!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Russell Pearce and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maia avoids the head kick by Galilei.

Maia attempts a counter takedown but Galilei avoids it well and moves away.

Maia is trying to control the action in half guard but Galilei is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Maia seems to be working for a kimura but Galilei defends the submission attempt.

Galilei has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Maia takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Maia tries to counter with a takedown but Galilei is quick to defend against it.

Maia takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Galilei swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Maia.
Galilei misses with a low kick.
Maia drops down looking for a counter takedown but Galilei sprawls and moves away.
A nice leg kick lands there from Galilei.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Maia is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Galilei!
Maia can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Galilei is looking to escape.

Maia swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Galilei is now in Maia's guard. A big mistake from Maia there, giving up the dominant position!
Maia wants to sweep but no luck.
Galilei is fighting to break Maia's control of his arms but Maia is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Maia looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Galilei puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Maia wants to improve his position but Galilei is controlling well.

Galilei content to control rather than advance.

Galilei lands a big head kick that sends Maia tumbling to the mat! Galilei takes a step backwards and waves Maia back to his feet - he wants the finish!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Galilei steps in with a hook that catches Maia right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Galilei follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Maia looks absolutely devastated.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:05 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Galileo Galilei!
