Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ben Solomon (ranked 2740 p4p, 2995 weight class) and Jean Luc Picard (ranked 350 p4p, 376 weight class). Picard is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Cypress Hill - How I Could Just Kill A Man. Jean Luc Picard has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ben Solomon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jean Luc Picard!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Marco Blurström and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Solomon avoids the head kick by Picard.
Picard doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
A slow jab from Picard misses its intended target.
A quick step to the side and Solomon tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Solomon looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Solomon jabs Picard to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Solomon fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Picard walks into a straight right hand from Solomon.
It looks like Jean Luc Picard has been cut.
Picard throws a body punch but Solomon moves out of range.
Picard misses with a body shot
and Picard takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Solomon throws a lazy right hand but Picard sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
It seemed like Picard was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

enabling Solomon to counter with a crisp jab.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Solomon throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

and Picard counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Picard is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Solomon.
Picard thows a left - swing and a miss!
Solomon lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Picard avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Picard! But no joy.
Solomon lands a body shot.
Solomon has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Picard finds it's way round the side to connect with Solomon's head.
Picard connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Ben Solomon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Picard throws the left hand but Solomon avoids the punch easily.
A little feinted left hand from Solomon on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Solomon misses with a left hand
and Picard counters with an outside leg kick.
Solomon swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Picard needs to keep his hands up - Solomon had a free shot at his head there.
Picard slips a straight right by Solomon.
Solomon cracks Picard with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Picard connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Picard displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Solomon throws out the jab.
Solomon goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
That has opened up Jean Luc Picard's cut even more.
Solomon looks to throw the jab but Picard is out of range.
Solomon lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Picard is rocked!
Picard throws a leg kick that is checked
and Solomon counters with a right hand from hell and Picard is out cold! A vicious knockout!
