PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Atticus Finch (ranked 501 p4p, 390 weight class) and Bardia Farrokhzad (ranked 43 p4p, 32 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Finch might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Ghetto Bird- Ice Cube. Farrokhzad comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Rastak - Hele Mali (Iranian Fisherman Folk Song) kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Farrokhzad lands with a shot to the body.
Farrokhzad throws a jab when Finch was well out of range.
Finch takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Farrokhzad bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Finch's head backwards.
Finch takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Finch tries to keep at a distance but Farrokhzad has taken the fight into the clinch.

Finch is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Farrokhzad unloads a knee to the mid-section. Finch lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Finch is looking to control Farrokhzad's arms but Farrokhzad gets an underhook and turns him. Now Finch has his back to the cage.
Finch tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Farrokhzad lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Farrokhzad throws the left hand but Finch avoids the punch easily.
Finch tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Finch uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Farrokhzad.

Farrokhzad tries to counter with a clinch but Finch shakes him off and moves away.

Finch doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Finch slips under a jab from Farrokhzad.
Finch bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Farrokhzad's head.
Farrokhzad swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Bardia Farrokhzad seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Finch throws a jab but it's blocked by Farrokhzad.

and Finch counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Finch throws out a loose jab but Farrokhzad uses good head movement to avoid it.

Finch drops a shoulder and throws a monster hook that connects perfectly to the side of Farrokhzad's head, knocking him out cold! Finch is extatic as he celebrates with his cornermen.
