Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Saul Hunter! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ryu Inhanamoto! The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Dmitry Maklakov and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Inhanamoto throws out a loose jab but Hunter uses good head movement to avoid it. Hunter is looking to counter punch. Hunter throws a body punch but Inhanamoto moves out of range. Hunter fails to land with a series of punches.
Hunter moves out of range of the strikes. A jab from Hunter does it's job there.
It looks like Ryu Inhanamoto has been cut. Hunter throws a series of punches but Inhanamoto avoids them all with ease. Inhanamoto misses with an uppercut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Inhanamoto throws a jab but it's blocked by Hunter. Hunter appears to be looking for a big counter. Ryu Inhanamoto seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hunter will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hunter scores with a nice strike. Inhanamoto avoids the body shot from Hunter.
Hunter throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Inhanamoto counters with a nice right hand that sends Hunter toppling to the canvas! Hunter scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Inhanamoto finish him?!
It looks like Saul Hunter has been cut. Hunter gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Inhanamoto gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ryu Inhanamoto! Ryu Inhanamoto retains his heavyweight title! An out of breath Ryu Inhanamoto thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
