PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ben Crispian (ranked 297 p4p, 222 weight class) and White Goodman (ranked 26 p4p, 19 weight class). Goodman has chosen Globo Gym America Corp. as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ben Crispian!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, White Goodman!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Wagner Zegers and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crispian throws a nice looking combination but Goodman bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Goodman tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Crispian cracks Goodman with a right hand to the side of the head.

It looks like White Goodman has been cut.
Jab by Goodman.
Crispian throws a body punch but Goodman moves out of range.
Crispian fakes the leg kick and cracks Goodman in the body.
A swing and a miss from Crispian.
Goodman tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Crispian manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Goodman throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
We've been told by Crispian's head coaches at League of Shadows MMA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Crispian lands a jab to the nose.
Crispian scores with a kick to the midsection.
Goodman connects with a good right hand that stumbles Crispian. Crispian circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Ben Crispian seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Crispian is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Goodman.
A lazy left from Goodman finds it's target.
Crispian misses the body punch
and Goodman counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Goodman closes the distance and clinches.

Goodman tries to score a body lock takedown but Crispian shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Goodman's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Crispian throws a punch but it's blocked by Goodman.
Crispian works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

Goodman pulls Crispian into guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Crispian trying to control the position from guard on top but Goodman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Crispian won't allow Goodman to sweep him here.

Goodman keeping moving, preventing Crispian from controlling successfully.
Crispian wants to pass the guard but Goodman is keeping the position.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Crispian walks into a straight right hand from Goodman.
Crispian misses with a body kick.
A little jabbing left from Goodman on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Crispian paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Crispian looks for the body kick but Goodman saw that one coming.
Crispian scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Goodman doesn't seem bothered though.
Ben Crispian is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Goodman gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Crispian.
Goodman dodges the punch combination from Crispian.
Goodman with the counter takedown but Crispian avoids it easily.
Goodman chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Crispian can pounce on him.
Goodman looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
A decent looking cross lands there for Crispian.
Goodman misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Goodman slips under a jab from Crispian.
Goodman uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Crispian.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Goodman shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Crispian throws a right hand that misses
and Goodman counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Goodman ducks under a wild hook from Crispian.
Crispian looks to throw the jab but Goodman is out of range.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Goodman! But no joy.
A telegraphed right hand from Goodman misses the target.
Crispian throws the left hand but Goodman avoids the punch easily.
Goodman moves forwards but Crispian connects with a nice, crisp jab.

That has opened up White Goodman's cut even more.
Goodman lands a slapping body shot.
Goodman blocks a jab.
Goodman wants to counter with a clinch but Crispian pushes him away.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Ben Crispian dominated that round.
The cut man is working on White Goodman's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Goodman ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Crispian moves away.
An attempted straight right counter from Crispian misses the target.
Goodman changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Crispian tries to avoid it but Goodman manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Crispian to the ground. Crispian escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Crispian takes a swing at Goodman's ribcage but misses.
Goodman looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Crispian connects with a jab.
Goodman ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Crispian throws out a powerful jab.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Goodman tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Crispian manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Crispian slips a straight right by Goodman.
Goodman bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Crispian is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Goodman.

Goodman takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Crispian takes a body punch but keeps moving.
The fighters circling - Crispian throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Crispian misses with a body kick.
Goodman changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Goodman ducks under a wild hook from Crispian.
Crispian lands a brutal head kick. Goodman looks out on his feet and Crispian throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick and Punches). Ben Crispian!
Ben Crispian is the new featherweight champion!
A relieved looking Ben Crispian thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
White Goodman was interviewed post fight and said 'Nobody makes me bleed my own blood! Nobody! You only won because i did a set of ten thousand squats before the fight.'.
