Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jerry Short (ranked 299 p4p, 1397 weight class) and Ed Green (ranked 13 p4p, 53 weight class). Short comes to the cage accompanied by Survivor - Eye Of The Tiger. Jerry Short has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 20 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jerry Short! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 31 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ed Green! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Percy O'Donnell and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Green shoots in for a takedown but Short shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Short steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Green. Green lands a jab. Green is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Short. Short shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Short was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Short is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Green has escaped the position, nice work there. Short wants to lay and pray for a moment but Green keeps working. Green can't do much from the bottom here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Green manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Green actively working from the bottom here. Short has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Short is looking for a kimura here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Green is refusing to be controlled, as Short sits in half guard. Short seems to be looking for submissions.
Green has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it. Short trying to control the action but Green is working from the bottom. Green looking for submissions off his back. Green wants to improve his position but Short is controlling well.
Short is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Green is just riding it out for now. Short eventually gives up the hold. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Short is trying to control the action in half guard but Green is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Green looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Short is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Green actively working from the bottom here. Green is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Short pulls his head out easily. Green tries to roll over but Short keeps him under control. Short takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Short is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Short wants to control but Green is keeping him busy. Green avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Short. Short is working for a submission of some sort.
Short scoring with strikes to the body and head. Green trying to hold on to Short's head to control him but Short postures up.
Short is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Green is trying to get back to full guard. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Jerry Short dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Short avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Short appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Green misses with a straight right. Short fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Green throws an overhand right that lands on Short's shoulder, as Short tries to avoid the shot. Short needs to keep his hands up - Green had a free shot at his head there.
It looks like Jerry Short has been cut. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Green!

and Short counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Short drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Short jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Short trying to control but Green is working from the bottom. Jerry Short overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Short avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Green is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Short slips nicely into half guard. Short prevents Green from improving his position. Green is defending against the submission attempts here by Short.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Green has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Short is working away from the top position though. Short is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Green can do to turn this around? Short is working for a submission of some sort.
Green tries to roll over but Short keeps him under control. Short is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Green doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Short.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Short is looking for a kimura but Green is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Short to get the leverage. Short is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Green is looking to improve his position.
Short thows an elbow strike that misses. Green gets hold of full guard and has managed to get a loose guillotine attempt. Short doesn't seem too bothered but Green quickly shifts his position and has tightened the hold! Short is in big trouble now - he's going a funny colour - he's tapping out! Nice finish there! Short really should have spotted the danger earlier though... either incompetence or over-confidence has resulted in a big L on his record.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Ed Green! Ed Green gave a mention to HELLBENT in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
