Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Mickey Cowan (ranked 234 p4p, 544 weight class) and Ricky Greene (ranked 15 p4p, 40 weight class). Greene is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Stepdad- Eminem. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mickey Cowan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 16 - 1, fighting out of London, Ricky Greene!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Atkins and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cowan throws a looping overhand right but Greene ducks down to avoid it.
Cowan bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Cowan stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Cowan wants it to stay on the feet.
Greene fails to land the takedown.

Greene instigates a clinch.
Greene struggles to land a body shot inside as Cowan controls his hands.
Greene tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Mickey Cowan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ricky Greene.
Cowan goes for a takedown attempt but Greene pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cowan looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Greene throws a series of punches but Cowan avoids them all with ease.
Cowan seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Greene stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Greene wants it to stay on the feet.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Cowan is defended easily by Greene.
Greene throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Cowan lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Greene has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Greene and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Greene shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Cowan but Cowan pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Greene, as that shot connected.
Greene lands a nice shot to the body.
Cowan walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Greene shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Cowan is trying to defend but Greene finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Greene looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Greene is taking a breather. Cowan says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Cowan is looking for a sweep. Greene is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Greene wants to work for an arm triangle but Cowan is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Greene is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Cowan sees it coming and defends easily.

Greene is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Cowan trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Greene manages to pass to mount!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Cowan is looking to get to half guard.
Greene can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Cowan is looking to escape.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Greene digs a good body shot into Cowan's ribs.
Greene misses with a takedown attempt - Cowan sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Cowan tries to close the distance and clinch up but Greene swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Cowan throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Cowan wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

Cowan throws a jab but it's blocked by Greene.
Greene has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Greene shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Cowan wants to get back to his feet but Greene is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Cowan wants to sweep here but Greene controlling him for the moment.
Greene advances to half guard.
Cowan knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Greene on the ground.

Greene looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Greene seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Cowan does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Cowan wants to get back to full guard but Greene has passed into side control.

Greene swings around for an armbar but Cowan sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Greene's guard.
Greene keeping moving, preventing Cowan from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Greene is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Cowan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Greene swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Greene is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Greene isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Cowan stacks Greene on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Cowan!

Cowan wants to control for a moment but Greene uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Cowan passes into side control, despite Greene's attempt to control the position.
You can see the frustration on Greene's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Cowan decides to stand back up.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Ricky Greene will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

The fight stays on the outside here - Greene looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

And Greene tries to counter it with a takedown but Cowan pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Greene bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Cowan tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Cowan wants to hold on but Greene pushes him away.

Greene is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Cowan can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Ricky Greene comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Greene has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
