Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andrei Kersikov (ranked 9 p4p, 48 weight class) and Danyaal Zahedi (ranked 2 p4p, 7 weight class). Kersikov comes to the cage accompanied by Head of the Table. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Kersikov slips under a jab.
Zahedi throws a combination that misses
and Kersikov counters with a left to the body.
Kersikov has been working on his boxing with his coaches at KFA in the buildup to the fight.

and Kersikov counters with a stiff right hand.

Zahedi has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Zahedi throws a jab but it's blocked by Kersikov.
Kersikov swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.

Danyaal Zahedi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Zahedi is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kersikov.
Zahedi throws a lazy right hand but Kersikov sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Zahedi misses with a left hand
and Kersikov counters with an inside leg kick.
Zahedi gets a clinch.
Kersikov lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Zahedi backwards.
Zahedi misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Kersikov breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Zahedi tries to clinch but Kersikov moves out of range.
Kersikov feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Kersikov blocks a head kick by Zahedi.
Kersikov thinks about countering with a body kick.
Nice defenses there by Kersikov.

Zahedi is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Kersikov is looking for a counter combo.

Kersikov takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Zahedi throws out a loose jab but Kersikov uses good head movement to avoid it.
Zahedi might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Zahedi misses with a hook
and Kersikov counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Zahedi bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Andrei Kersikov's cut is getting worse.
Zahedi loads up on a big right hand but Kersikov slips the punch.
Zahedi throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Kersikov sees it coming and avoids it easily.
As Zahedi backs away, Kersikov returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Zahedi paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Kersikov leaves his chin hanging out and Zahedi seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Kersikov crumbles to the floor in a heap, and the referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!
