Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Orestes Prometheus (ranked 19 p4p, 44 weight class) and Ryu Inhanamoto (ranked 3 p4p, 5 weight class). Prometheus's entrance music is Before I Forget - Slipknot. A fine choice. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Orestes Prometheus!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ryu Inhanamoto!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Prometheus crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Inhanamoto - the referee stops the clock and Prometheus gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Inhanamoto. Prometheus manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

It looks like Orestes Prometheus has been cut.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Inhanamoto throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Prometheus stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Inhanamoto feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Prometheus sprawling to the canvas! Prometheus rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Inhanamoto finish him?!
Prometheus steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Inhanamoto.
Inhanamoto sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Prometheus gets cracked there but stands up to it.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Inhanamoto uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Prometheus.

Inhanamoto moves into range and clinches up with Prometheus.
I was talking to Prometheus's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
A right hook to the body lands for Inhanamoto.

Prometheus escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Inhanamoto digs a good body shot into Prometheus's ribs.
Prometheus is breathing heavily.

Inhanamoto lands a vicious elbow to the side of Prometheus's head that scrambles his senses and sends him wobbling down to the canvas! Inhanamoto tries to finish him with strikes but Prometheus still seems able to defend himself so Inhanamoto steps back and lets Prometheus get back to his feet - he wants no part of the ground game.

Prometheus is rocked!
Inhanamoto lands a brutal uppercut that launches Prometheus off his feet! Prometheus tumbles to the floor, barely conscious - the referee jumps in to save him from a beating! Wow, what an ending!
