Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Santiago Santos (ranked 16 p4p, 23 weight class) and Takeda Shida (ranked 4 p4p, 7 weight class). Santiago Santos is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Santiago Santos!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Takeda Shida!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Good shot there by Shida.
It looks like Santiago Santos has been cut.
Shida is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Santos appears to be looking for a big counter.

Santos tried to counter with a leg kick but Shida avoided it.
Shida misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Shida turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Santos appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.

enabling Santos to counter with a crisp jab.

Santos was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

A quick step to the side and Santos tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

and Santos counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Shida lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Santiago Santos will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Crunch! Shida slams his shin into Santos's torso.
Santos jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Shida is looking for the big counter here.

and Shida counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Santos misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Shida.

Takeda Shida seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Takeda Shida seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Shida misses with a hook. Santos ducked under it nicely.
Shida takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Santos tries to close the distance and clinch up but Shida swats him away and circles back towards the center.

and Santos counters with a crisp right hand that drops Shida! Santos lets Shida back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Santos lands with a nice body kick.
Shida is breathing heavily.
Shida moves out of range of the body kick from Santos.
Shida misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Santos counters with a lovely straight right hand!
It looks like Santos has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Santos fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Santos cracks Shida with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Shida looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away� can Santos finish him?
That has opened up Takeda Shida's cut even more.
Santos ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with Shida's jaw. Shida's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! Santos does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Santiago Santos!
