With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Diego Rios! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Alan Glass and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jab by Almeida. Almeida looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

Almeida thuds a left hand into Rios's body. Almeida takes a shot right to the bread basket. Danga de danga de dang - Rios scores with a four punch combination! Almeida misses with a straight right. Rios misses with a hook. Almeida ducked under it nicely. Rios slips under a jab. Rios throws a wild combination but nothing lands. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Rios chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Almeida can pounce on him.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rios swings for the body but Almeida moves out of range.
Vitor Almeida is winning the standup battle so far. Rios cracks Almeida with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Almeida throws a jab but it's blocked by Rios. A low kick from Rios is predictable there and Almeida counters with a three punch combo that has Rios backing up. Rios nods at Almeida to acknowledge the strikes.

Diego Rios seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rios scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Almeida lunges at Rios with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Rios's hand. Rios has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Rios on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Almeida lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Almeida is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Rios can do to turn this around? Almeida connects with a solid leg kick. Vitor Almeida is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Rios blocks a head kick by Almeida.

Almeida wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Almeida throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Rios on the side of the head. Almeida misses with an uppercut

Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with each other but Rios might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Almeida has got the better of the exchanges. Almeida scores with a shot to the body.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Vitor Almeida. Well Almeida has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Prescott is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Average Judas Gym, so we'll see if he gets out of it. Prescott is not content to let Struja Jr control the position. Prescott tries to kick Struja Jr off but Struja Jr keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Struja Jr thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Prescott's head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Struja Jr missing with the ground and pound from half guard. And that is the end of the round. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rockefeller ducks under a wild hook from Fezzik. Rockefeller works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. It looks like Hassan Fezzik has been cut. Rockefeller with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Fezzik to score with a decent uppercut. Rockefeller scores with a punch to the head. Rockefeller rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Fezzik counters with a nice uppercut. Rockefeller misses with a hook. Fezzik ducked under it nicely. Richard Rockefeller seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fezzik keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Rockefeller . Fezzik is looking to counter punch. Fezzik lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

and Fezzik counters with a three punch combo that has Rockefeller backing up. Rockefeller nods at Fezzik to acknowledge the strikes. That's four minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! The fighters circling - Rockefeller throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Fezzik throws a lazy right hand but Rockefeller sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Fezzik slips a jab from Rockefeller . Fezzik instigates a clinch. Fezzik misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Fezzik swings wildly with an uppercut but Rockefeller uses good head movement to avoid it. Rockefeller blocking some punches.

Fezzik throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Rockefeller on the side of the head. Fezzik moves in looking to clinch but Rockefeller pushes him off. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Rockefeller , as that shot connected.

That was a close round but I would say that Hassan Fezzik will probably get the nod. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Rockefeller steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Fezzik. Rockefeller drops Fezzik with a big left hand and mounts him. Fezzik is in big trouble! Fezzik is looking to improve his position but Rockefeller isn't that keen on the idea. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Rockefeller stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing. Fezzik slips a jab from Rockefeller . Fezzik ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Nice cross by Rockefeller . Rockefeller takes a swing at Fezzik's ribcage but misses. Fezzik ducks under a wild hook from Rockefeller . Fezzik tried to counter with a leg kick but Rockefeller avoided it. Good exchange - Rockefeller coming out on top. Good exchange - Fezzik coming out on top. Fezzik has closed the distance and engaged Rockefeller in a clinch.

Gage fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Thrane, pushing him back against the cage. A head punch on the inside from Thrane fails to land. That's two minutes gone in the round. Thrane is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Gage seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Thrane got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gage has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Thrane has managed to get both his arms back between Gage's legs - danger averted. Gage controls Thrane momentarily but Thrane frees himself. Thrane avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. A telegraphed right hand from Gage misses the target. Thrane appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick. Gage jabbing away but nothing is landing. Thrane throws a nice inside leg kick. Thrane connects with a jab. Gage tries to clinch but fails miserably and Thrane counters with a low kick, right behind Gage 's knee. Gage fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Thrane uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Gage has time to react. Gage has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Thrane. Gage drops his hands momentarily and Thrane takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Thrane moves out of range of the strikes. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Gage misses with a takedown attempt and Thrane counters with a right hand to the body. A solid leg kick lands there for Thrane.
Gage chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Thrane can pounce on him.
And that's the end of the fight! Jørgen Thrane comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Thrane winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Monkey sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Rai misses with a lunging right hand
letting Monkey counter with a right hand. Rai with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Monkey to score with a decent uppercut. Rai scores with a jab to the body. Rai blocks the body kick.
A little feinted left hand from Rai on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Rai loads up on a big right hand but Monkey slips the punch. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Monkey! But no joy. Rai slips a straight right by Monkey. Monkey tries to keep at a distance but Rai has taken the fight into the clinch. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Monkey. Monkey wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. A head punch on the inside from Rai fails to land. Rai tries to throw a body punch but Monkey avoids it by throwing Rai back against the cage. Rai lands an uppercut. A short uppercut from Monkey. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Monkey works on Rai's body with a couple of short punches. Monkey misses with a punch to the body.
Rai throws a head punch that misses. The referee is keeping an eye on Monkey - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sampson throws a looping overhand right but Granite ducks down to avoid it. Granite lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Granite lands with a big right hook that stumbles Sampson - he's out on his feet here! Granite follows up with another monster hook that separates Sampson from consciousness! Sampson falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Granite stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Jimmy Granite ! A relieved looking Jimmy Granite thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it. Douglas Sampson spoke after the fight, saying 'Nothing goes over my head… my reflexes are too fast, but my famously huge turd pre fight left me feeling dizzy and I was seeing double vision the whole fight'.

Bonaparte fires out a quick counter leg kick but Zakharov just manages to avoid it. Leonid Zakharov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The fight stays on the outside here - Zakharov looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Bonaparte throws a leg kick but Zakharov moved away. Zakharov tries to clinch and Bonaparte counters with a stiff right hand. Zakharov throws out a loose jab but Bonaparte uses good head movement to avoid it. Bonaparte on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

Bonaparte looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Zakharov tries to clinch up. Zakharov scores with a jab. Bonaparte acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Zakharov fails with an attempt to clinch.

Bonaparte throws a head kick. It's landed, knocking Zakharov into next week! Ooooh that was huge! Bonaparte knows it - he's on the cage flexing is biceps. That's a bit weird considering he won by kick but whatever.
