Fortay misses the jab.
Cruz uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Fortay.
Cruz looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Nice uppercut lands for Cruz. That snapped Fortay's head back.
Fortay lands a really nice looking cross but Cruz seems unphased.
Cruz fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Fortay manages to avoid it.
Sloppy strikes from Fortay. Those never looked like landing.
Cruz uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Fortay.
Fortay moves away from the strike by Cruz.
Fortay appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
Fortay works Cruz's body with a nice hook.

Fortay shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Fortay was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Cruz is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Fortay lets go of the hold and Cruz can pop his arm back in it's socket.

McGuire lands a jab to the head.
McGuire tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

McGuire cracks McConnell with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! McConnell looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away can McGuire finish him?
McConnell is rocked!
McConnell moves out of range of the strikes.
McConnell went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Lathem McGuire seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

McGuire cracks McConnell with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. McGuire has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning McConnell to stand back up!
Oh McConnell is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
McGuire fakes the body blow, causing McConnell to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! McConnell goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Odin Markkanen.
