The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vovchanchyn scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Mercenary misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Mercenary is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Vovchanchyn. Vovchanchyn misses with an attempted mid kick.
Vovchanchyn lands a nice shot to the body.
Mercenary misses with a leg kick. Mercenary moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Mercenary throws the left hand but Vovchanchyn avoids the punch easily. Vovchanchyn turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Vovchanchyn lands with a thumping leg kick.
Mercenary looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Vovchanchyn feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Mercenary sprawling to the canvas! Mercenary rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Vovchanchyn finish him?!
Mercenary is rocked! It looks like Medieval Mercenary has been cut. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Vovchanchyn lands with a massive overhand right! Stick a fork in Mercenary - he's out cold! Ermm... I think I just mixed my metaphors but yeah... That was a nice KO! Big win for Vovchanchyn!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Andy Kopecki! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 22 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Cayden Abner! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yukihiro Shimada and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kopecki misses with a double jab
and Abner counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Kopecki. Abner shrugs it off though. Kopecki lands with a nice body kick. Kopecki has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Bushido Martial Arts in the buildup to the fight. Abner's corner calls for a 1-2. Abner obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Abner shoots in for a takedown but Kopecki shows good takedown defense. Kopecki throws a lazy body kick and Abner counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Abner has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Abner throws a right hand that Kopecki ducks under and follows up with a left that Kopecki also avoids with ease. Abner with a hook. Kopecki fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Abner manages to avoid it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Abner stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. A big left from Abner misses. Kopecki throws a lazy right hand but Abner sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Kopecki connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Abner's hands. Kopecki moves out of range of the strikes. Kopecki lands a big head kick that sends Abner tumbling to the mat! Kopecki takes a step backwards and waves Abner back to his feet - he wants the finish! Abner is rocked! This has been an exciting period of action! Abner gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Kopecki counters with a monster hook and another for good measure! Abner falls to the ground, out cold! Stick some heavy metal music over the top of that clip and it's one for the highlight makers!

Our winner, Andy Kopecki, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A looping hook to the body misses from Kraag. Qiang does a little dance to reset his feet. Kraag shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Qiang uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Kraag misses with a shot to the body and Qiang counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Kraag throws a body shot but no joy. Kraag takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Qiang catches Kraag with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Kraag is rocked! Qiang with the inside leg kick. Oh Kraag is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Qiang lands a right hook to the body.
Kraag is breathing heavily. Qiang ducks down and throws a big overhand right - it lands flush on the jaw, knocking Kraag out cold! The fight is over!

Blikstein unleashes a big counter combination but Rutger bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Rutger misses with an uppercut. Blikstein drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Rutger defends it well. A jab from Rutger misses. Rutger scores with a crisp jab that stopped Blikstein in his tracks. A low kick lands for Rutger.
Rutger thows a left - swing and a miss! Blikstein lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Rutger fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Blikstein has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Rutger avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Blikstein is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Rutger wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Blikstein sitting in guard, not really doing much. Blikstein lands a couple of elbows. Blikstein wants to control from the top but Rutger keeps moving. Blikstein throwing strikes from guard but Rutger blocks nicely. Blikstein has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Blikstein with a flurry of punches that miss. And that is the end of the round. Rutger lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Jab, jab by Rutger - just one landing. Blikstein shoots and misses and Blikstein takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Rutger throws a right hand that Blikstein ducks under and follows up with a left that Blikstein also avoids with ease. Rutger cracks Blikstein with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Blikstein on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Blikstein dives in and scores a takedown into Rutger's guard. Blikstein working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Rutger is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Blikstein can do to turn this around? Blikstein chips away with some ground and pound.

Rutger working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Blikstein. Blikstein keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Rutger's head. Blikstein throwing strikes but missing. Blikstein trying to control the position from guard on top but Rutger is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Blikstein is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Rutger throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Blikstein fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Rutger connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Blikstein momentarily.

Blikstein changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Rutger throws a leg kick that is checked and Blikstein counters with a stiff right hand. Rutger stuffs the takedown. Rufus Rutger has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paulo Blikstein. Rutger misses the jab. Blikstein slips a jab from Rutger. Blikstein shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Rutger just misses with a punch to the body.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rutger throws out a loose jab but Blikstein uses good head movement to avoid it. Rutger misses with a hook. Blikstein throws a fast counter high kick but Rutger manages to duck under it in time. Jab from Rutger. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Rutger getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Rutger throws a hook but Blikstein blocks it. Blikstein keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

and Rutger counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. The fighters circling - Rutger throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Blikstein throws a head kick that misses. Rutger throws a right and a left that Blikstein avoids nicely. Blikstein fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Rutger sprawls well initially but Blikstein persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Blikstein looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Rutger with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Nice strikes from Blikstein there. Rutger pushes Blikstein off looking to stand but Blikstein dives back in and keeps control.

Blikstein throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Blikstein is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Paulo Blikstein has got the better of the ground game so far. Blikstein throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Blikstein trying to control from half guard but Rutger is working away. Blikstein stalling away here and it's allowed Rutger to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Blikstein postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Blikstein throwing strikes from guard but Rutger blocks nicely. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Blikstein is in close to Rutger's body, working some short punches and elbows. Paulo Blikstein has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Blikstein wants to control from the top but Rutger keeps moving. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Rutger is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Rutger throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Blikstein counters with a nice right hand that sends Rutger toppling to the canvas! Rutger scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Blikstein finish him?! Rutger is rocked! Both fighters are breathing heavily. Rutger swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Blikstein counters with a huge overhand right that connects right on the temple, sending him crumpling, face first to the floor! This one is all over! What a knockout!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Corassa lands a body shot.
Corassa ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Assndrop moves away. Assndrop follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land. Donk. Corassa catches Assndrop right on the button with a cross. Corassa throws a lazy right hand but Assndrop sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Assndrop unleashes a big counter combination but Corassa bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Corassa throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and Assndrop counters with a stiff right hand. It looks like Eduardo Corassa has been cut. Corassa dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Assndrop. That did some damage! Corassa seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Assndrop has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Corassa finds it's way round the side to connect with Assndrop's head. Corassa misses with a lunging right hand
and Assndrop counters with a big uppercut that knocks Corassa off his feet! Assndrop dives into side control looking to finish! Corassa is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Assndrop wants to control but Corassa is keeping him busy. Oh Corassa is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Assndrop is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Corassa seems to have got his legs back now. Let's hope that Assndrop has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
That's one minute gone in the round. Corassa holds on to Assndrop's head and controls the position momentarily. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Assndrop controls the position from side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Assndrop tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Assndrop has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Corassa wants to control but Assndrop postures up. Assndrop tries to move to mount but Corassa blocks the move with his legs. Assndrop is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Corassa is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Assndrop tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Assndrop wants to lay and pray for a moment but Corassa keeps working. Corassa is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Assndrop is pressing down on Corassa's thigh, looking to free his foot. Corassa is holding on for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Corassa is not content to let Assndrop control the position.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Corassa waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Assndrop. Assndrop has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Corassa lands a leg kick that knocks Assndrop off balance momentarily. Corassa fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Assndrop manages to avoid it. Corassa throws a nice inside leg kick. Assndrop pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Assndrop walks into a stiff left hand from Corassa. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Assndrop takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
