Steve throws a right hand that misses
enabling Thibodeaux Jr. to counter with a crisp jab.
Steve fails in his attempt to clinch.
Thibodeaux Jr. takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Thibodeaux Jr. has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Thib's Sweat Shoppe in the buildup to the fight.
Thibodeaux Jr. uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Steve.
Stoner Steve seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Thibodeaux Jr. counters with a nice right hand that sends Steve toppling to the canvas! Steve scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Thibodeaux Jr. finish him?!
Steve throws an off balance right hand
and Thibodeaux Jr. rattles Steve with a well-timed uppercut counter. - Steve tries to back away and recover but his hands are down low and he gets tagged again, sending him stumbling down to the canvas. Thibodeaux Jr. dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Steve stiff and motionless on the mat!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Dakota Thibodeaux Jr.!
Dakota Thibodeaux Jr. decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
