With a record of 30 - 17 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Claudio Benedetti! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 6 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Doyle Brunson! The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Franklyn Lucas and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brunson blocks a head kick by Benedetti.
Benedetti has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Finch Gym in the buildup to the fight. Good shot there by Benedetti. Benedetti throws out a loose jab but Brunson uses good head movement to avoid it. Nice defenses there by Brunson. Brunson has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. It looks like Doyle Brunson has been cut. Benedetti misses with a hook. Benedetti throws a sloppy head kick and Brunson moves out of range easily. Benedetti lands a glancing blow to the side of Brunson's head. Brunson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Benedetti sprawls well initially but Brunson persists and gets the takedown into half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Brunson throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Brunson works his way into full mount! Brunson has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Benedetti's face.

Claudio Benedetti seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Brunson shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Benedetti is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Brunson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Brunson's back!

Brunson throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Benedetti works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. Brunson not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Brunson is looking to stall here but Benedetti recovers full guard. Brunson throws a strike but Benedetti rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Benedetti will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Benedetti trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Brunson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Benedetti is controlling him. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Benedetti cracks Brunson with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Benedetti throws a hook to the side of Brunson's head but Brunson sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Brunson looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Brunson throws a right and a left that Benedetti avoids nicely. And that is the end of the round. Benedetti gets caught napping as Brunson dives in and scores a takedown. Benedetti manages to retain guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Brunson is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Brunson with a flurry of punches that miss. Brunson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Brunson trying to control the position from guard on top but Benedetti is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Brunson with the ground and pound but Benedetti uses the opportunity to regain guard. Brunson throws an elbow that misses. Benedetti uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Brunson's guard. Nice move by Benedetti!

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Brunson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Benedetti has Brunson pulled in close to control his posture. We've been informed that Jewish has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Filth shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jewish but Jewish pushes him off and we're back to square one. Jewish moves in looking to clinch but Filth pushes him off. Filth buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Filth connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Jewish takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Filth closes the distance and lands a one-two. Jewish throws a body punch but Filth moves out of range. Jewish closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Filth throws a big counter combination but Jewish scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Filth slips under a jab from Jewish. A punch lands to the side of Filth 's head but he takes it in his stride. Filth has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Jewish. Jewish's corner calls for a 1-2. Jewish obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Filth buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

It looked like Filth was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Filth throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Jewish's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Filth dives in looking to finish as Jewish flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Filth's strikes! Filth is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Jewish's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Jewish was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:09 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Obama Filth! Obama Filth tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brovarnik closes the distance but Kekoa moves to the side and Kekoa counters with a nice uppercut. Kekoa connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Brovarnik is rocked! Brovarnik fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Kekoa looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Brovarnik misses with a body punch
and Kekoa counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Brovarnik is still on wobbly legs! Can Kekoa finish him? Brovarnik closes the distance but Kekoa moves to the side and Kekoa counters with a beautiful right hand that knocks Brovarnik out cold! What a finish! Kekoa is going crazy, running around the mat, summersaulting off the corner posts and screaming into the cameras. Something tells me he's pretty happy!

We've been told by Anderson's head coaches at Gumburcules Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Anderson jabs at Phillips's body. Anderson with a body punch. A glancing blow. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The fighters circle momentarily. Anderson darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Phillips avoids a punch combination nicely.

Cotilla shoots in looking for a takedown but Edmond manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Cotilla's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
