The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nelson gets a clinch. A quick uppercut on the inside from Nelson. Veainu blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Veainu has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Nelson uses from the top position. Nelson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Nelson stands and steps away. Veainu gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Nelson moves into the clinch successfully.

Anstey is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Jewish is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice body punch from Zaire. Picogram connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Picogram lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Zaire lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Zaire walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Picogram attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Zaire was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Picogram takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Zaire lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Picogram circles away quickly and effectively. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Boma wants to clinch. Boma lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Rose blocks the body kick.
Boma catches Rose with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Rose closes the distance and lands a one-two. Boma staying out of range there. We've been informed that Boma has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Boma throws a body punch but Rose moves out of range. Rose has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Rose lands a glancing blow to the side of Boma's head. Rose swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Rose ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Boma moves away. Boma misses with a kick to the body and Rose counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Rose throwing shots but Boma is blocking nicely. Boma is refusing to be controlled, as Rose sits in half guard.
