With a record of 20 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Micah Frank! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 14 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brusse Liee! The judges for this bout are Josh West, Roger Salmon and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Frank avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Liee takes one to the side of the head.
Liee throws a hook but Frank avoids it easily. Frank misses with a looping right. Frank lands a nice leg kick that just misses Liee's sensitive parts. Liee moves out of range of the leg kick from Frank. Liee lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Frank thuds a left hand into Liee's body. Frank misses with an uppercut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Frank throws an off balance right hand
and Liee counters with a series of strikes that practically lifts Frank off his feet! He tumbles backwards, his head bouncing off the mat - Liee follows up with more strikes before the ref can step in but Frank was out before he hit the floor.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vera throws a lazy right hand but Tragedy sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Tragedy looks to score with a jab to the body but Vera is just out of range. Tragedy misses with a left hand and Vera counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Vera misses with a looping right. Trage Tragedy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Vera will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Vera lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Tragedy backs up against the cage.
It looks like Trage Tragedy has been cut. Vera scores with a jab. Tragedy acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Tragedy waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Vera. No, Adams has managed to get both his arms back between Alaska's legs - danger averted. Adams is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. With a record of 14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Samson Buddha! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 18 - 11 - 0, fighting out of London, Ezequiel Canizares! The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Colin Fray and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Canizares stuffs the takedown attempt from Buddha. Buddha gets slowly back to his feet. Buddha looks to land a combination but Canizares avoids it well. Canizares smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Canizares throws a sloppy head kick and Buddha moves out of range easily. A nice leg kick lands there from Buddha. Canizares scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Buddha scores with a jab. Canizares acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Canizares looks for the body kick but Buddha saw that one coming. Canizares throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Buddha has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Animal Fight Club in the buildup to the fight. Buddha throws a shot from downtown. Canizares moves away and avoids it. Canizares checks the leg kick nicely there.
Buddha lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Canizares takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Canizares fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Buddha is out of range. Canizares connects with a looping right hand.

A nice side step and Canizares releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Buddha closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Buddha is trying to control. Canizares wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Canizares is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Buddha missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Canizares keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Canizares is trying to control but Buddha manages to pass to mount!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Roy throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Furioto uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Roy.
A swing and a miss from Furioto. Roy feinted there with a counter leg kick. Furioto uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Roy. A low kick from Roy misses and Furioto counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Furioto is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Furioto looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. It looks like Maximus Furioto has been cut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Furioto fails with a takedown attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Furioto looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Roy is fending him off so far but Furioto persists. Nope, Roy circles away and we're back to standing. As Furioto backs away, Roy returns fire with a leg kick that just misses. Roy keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Roy is looking to slow Furioto down with leg kicks. Furioto uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Roy. Roy tries to land a leg kick but Furioto saw it coming and moves away.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Furioto! But no joy. Roy thuds his right hand into Furioto's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Roy thows a leg kick but Furioto checks it and Furioto counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Furioto. I was talking to Roy's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Roy lands an uppercut. Furioto is looking for a takedown. Rob Roy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Maximus Furioto.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marcus lands a right hook to the body.

Dredd lands with an uppercut that bounces Barkley off the cage and back into range. Barkley avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Barkley throws an overhand right that lands on Dredd's shoulder, as Dredd tries to avoid the shot. Dredd lands a nice shot to the body.

Dredd throws a head kick that misses. It looked like Barkley wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Barkley throws out a leg kick but Dredd moves out of range and Barkley only half commits. Dredd throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

A little feinted left hand from Barkley on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Dredd throws a hook to the side of Barkley's head but Barkley sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. A counter left hand to the body from Barkley misses its target. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Barkley thumps Dredd with a low kick.
