Coming up we have a super heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Kova Luu (ranked 1552 p4p, 1816 weight class) and Vahid Gangster (ranked 37 p4p, 97 weight class). Gangster has chosen 2Pac - The Warriors Way as his entrance music. Vahid Gangster told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 22 - 19 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Kova Luu! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Vahid Gangster! The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Saam Ante and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Luu tries to close the distance and clinch but Gangster swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Luu looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Luu misses with a straight right. Gangster tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Luu fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Gangster. Luu is looking to chop away at Gangster's legs. Gangster unleashes a big counter combination but Luu bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Luu forces Gangster back against the cage and clinches. Luu creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Gangster blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Gangster breaks the clinch.
Gangster on the wrong end of a nice jab. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Luu scores with a leg kick.
Luu throws a quick inside leg kick. Gangster moves into range and connects with a jab. Luu shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Gangster takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Luu is looking to land body kicks. Gangster cracks Luu with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Luu is rocked! Gangster connects with a body shot. Luu is breathing heavily. Luu glances at the clock... BAM! Gangster nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends Luu crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, Luu is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Vahid Gangster! After the fight, Vahid Gangster was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Peterson on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Horton. Horton obviously looking to wear him down.
Peterson gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Peterson moves out of range of the strikes. Peterson appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick. Peterson misses with a hook. Horton ducked under it nicely. A low kick lands for Peterson.

Joon kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is BewhY (비와이) – 가라사대 (GOTTASADAE). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

He touched his left hand down on the canvas so the referee steps between the fighters to give Chai a standing 8 count before we can continue the bout. And that is the end of the round. Farrokhzad tries to close the distance and clinch up but Salamanca swats him away and circles back towards the center. Farrokhzad shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Salamanca darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Farrokhzad scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Salamanca doesn't seem bothered though. Salamanca throws an overhand right that lands on Farrokhzad's shoulder, as Farrokhzad tries to avoid the shot. A quick step to the side and Farrokhzad tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. Farrokhzad drives through and clinches with Salamanca against the cage.
Farrokhzad throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Salamanca blocks it with crossed arms. A nice left hand lands by Salamanca.
Salamanca swings wildly with an uppercut but Farrokhzad uses good head movement to avoid it. Farrokhzad with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Farrokhzad pushes Salamanca back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. A frustrated look appears on Salamanca's face as he tries to break the clinch. Farrokhzad takes an elbow to the forehead. Salamanca breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Salamanca throws a lazy right hand but Farrokhzad sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Bardia Farrokhzad will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Salamanca throws a hook but Farrokhzad blocks it. Farrokhzad takes one to the chin there. Farrokhzad misses with a looping right. Salamanca works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Salamanca swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Salamanca eats them both and turns towards Farrokhzad to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Bardia Farrokhzad is winning the standup battle so far.
