Hugh was born a son to a Jiu Jitsu icon Grande Jaskok and his mother an olympic gymnast Itaka. Both immigrants from Ukraine. Growing up in Southern California Hugh followed in his father's footsteps and practioned early in jiu jitsu and wrestling. He even went on to attend the Univeristy of Minnesota on a full wrestling scholarship where he was an all-american. Jaskok was the 1st ever DFC-LV Lightweight Champion.
