The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kowalkiewicz keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Edmonds.
Kowalkiewicz is looking to counter the offense by Edmonds and move into the clinch.
Kowalkiewicz throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Edmonds sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Edmonds throws a hook but Kowalkiewicz blocks it.

Edmonds decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Kowalkiewicz is controlling Edmonds's trapped leg to prevent Edmonds from advancing to side control.

Kowalkiewicz feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Edmonds sprawling to the canvas! Edmonds rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Kowalkiewicz finish him?!
It looks like John Edmonds has been cut.
Edmonds just misses with a punch to the body.
Edmonds feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Kowalkiewiczs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Edmonds throws a lazy uppercut
and Kowalkiewicz counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Kowalkiewicz cracks Edmonds on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Edmonds falls backwards against the cage. Kowalkiewicz follows up with more strikes that drop Edmonds to his knees. Kowalkiewicz keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Edmonds! This one is all over!
