Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 15 - 12 - 2, fighting out of Tokyo, Attilio De Fiore! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 14 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Nova Lankinen! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Glass and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lankinen throws a combination but it was largely blocked by De Fiore. De Fiore tries a head kick but it misses.
Lankinen has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Lankinen there as he acknowledges the shot. Nice body kick from De Fiore. Lankinen takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. De Fiore clinches with his opponent.
De Fiore pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. De Fiore scores with a crisp jab that stopped Lankinen in his tracks. De Fiore is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. A slow jab from Lankinen misses its intended target. De Fiore is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. De Fiore stuns Lankinen with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. An inside leg kick lands from De Fiore. He turned his hip over nicely there.

and Lankinen cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. It looks like Attilio De Fiore has been cut. An inside leg kick lands from De Fiore. A looping hook to the body misses from De Fiore. Lankinen does a little dance to reset his feet. De Fiore walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Lankinen staying out of range there. De Fiore really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. De Fiore moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. De Fiore just misses with a punch to the body.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Lankinen has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. De Fiore looks to score with a jab to the body but Lankinen is just out of range. Lankinen is clearly trying to counter these attacks from De Fiore with a body shot. De Fiore misses with a hook. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thorsby ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Couceiro moves away. Couceiro throwing a counter right hand but Thorsby manages to avoid it. Couceiro missing with a left hand there. Thorsby was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Thorsby! But no joy. Couceiro misses with a straight left. Couceiro walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Thorsby misses with a body shot.

Thorsby uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Couceiro. Thorsby thumps Couceiro with a low kick. Thorsby thuds a left hand into Couceiro's body. Couceiro takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Couceiro doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Thorsby moves into range and connects with a jab. Oh Couceiro is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Thorsby connects with a body shot. Couceiro seems to have got his legs back now. Thorsby works the jab nicely. Thorsby misses with a body shot.
Svend Thorsby seems to be getting the better of the standup. Couceiro walks right into a perfectly timed right hook and goes down hard! He's out cold! The ref cradles Couceiro limp body while Thorsby jumps on to the cage and waves to the roaring crowd. Wow that was just a brutal knockout!

Kelly lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Mormaer circles away quickly and effectively. Mormaer looks to throw the jab but Kelly is out of range. Mormaer throws a front kick aimed at Kelly's knee but Kelly avoids it well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kelly feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Kelly stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Mormaer has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!

Wow, both these guys are really going for it! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Custer throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Custer swats away the attempt to clinch by Ward. Ward wants to clinch and Custer counters with a crisp right that sends Ward to the canvas! Custer follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!

Nice defenses there by Yu Tai. Gozen lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
