With a record of 13 - 22 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Peter Ross! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 17 - 22 - 0, fighting out of London, Daaniel Teteny! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shigeki Sano and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Teteny lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Daaniel Teteny seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ross stuffs the takedown. Teteny fails to land the takedown. Teteny shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ross but Ross pushes him off and we're back to square one. Ross is looking to counter the offense by Teteny and move into the clinch. God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Teteny might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Ross haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. And that is the end of the round. Ross tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Ross has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Boaz is trying hard to land a takedown here. Mercenary sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Boaz uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Mercenary. Mercenary moves out of range of the leg kick from Boaz. Boaz fails with the takedown letting Mercenary counter with a right hand. Nice shot by Boaz. Boaz swings for the body but Mercenary moves out of range.

I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

We've been hearing good reports from Boaz's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. A lull in the action here as Boaz stalls from top position. Mercenary is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Boaz asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Mercenary looks to land a combination but Boaz avoids it well. As Mercenary tries to get set, Boaz tries to push him back and clinch up but Mercenary manages to avoid the attempt. Mercenary misses with a hook. Boaz ducked under it nicely. The crowd cheers as Mercenary lands an impressive looking overhand right. Boaz doesn't seem phased though. Mercenary takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Mercenary throws a body punch but Boaz moves out of range. Boaz shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mercenary sprawls well. Mercenary wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Boaz gets slowly back to his feet. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Mercenary throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Mercenary. Boaz shrugs it off though. Boaz takes a body punch but keeps moving. Boaz drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Mercenary swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Boaz. Boaz on the wrong end of a nice jab. Boaz misses with a two punch combination.
As Boaz backs off Mercenary throws a huge counter combo but Boaz manages to avoid it all. Mercenary swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Boaz misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Boaz is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 20 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jesse Custer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 25 - 13 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Bruce Vanorden! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Kenichi Hosakawa and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Custer avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Custer tried to counter with a leg kick but Vanorden avoided it. A nice inside leg kick there by Custer. That's going to slow Vanorden down. Custer misses with a double jab
letting Vanorden counter with a right hand. Vanorden misses with a straight left. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Custer slips a straight right by Vanorden. Custer lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

and Vanorden connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Vanorden takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Vanorden throws an off balance right hand
and Custer counters with a nice low kick that buckles Vanorden's knee momentarily. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Vanorden checks a leg kick. It seemed like Vanorden was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Custer lands a big head kick that sends Vanorden tumbling to the mat! Custer takes a step backwards and waves Vanorden back to his feet - he wants the finish! Vanorden is rocked! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! An inside leg kick from Custer misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vanorden on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Custer scores with a spinning back kick! Custer stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Custer lands a big head kick that sends Vanorden tumbling to the mat! Custer takes a step backwards and waves Vanorden back to his feet - he wants the finish! Vanorden is still on wobbly legs! Can Custer finish him? Crack! Custer connects with the perfect overhand right and Vanorden falls face first to the canvas. Timbeeeeeeeer! Beautiful knockout for Custer!
