Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 18 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Andrei Kersikov! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 35 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mike Haggar! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Good shot there by Haggar. Kersikov gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Haggar lands a jab to the head.
Kersikov takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Haggar scores with a nice right hand.
Kersikov pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Haggar misses the shot to the body. Mike Haggar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kersikov keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Haggar. Haggar looks to land a combination but Kersikov avoids it well. Haggar lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Haggar fails to land the takedown. Andrei Kersikov is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Haggar looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Kersikov! Haggar throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Haggar misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Kersikov tries to buck Haggar off but Haggar is having none of it. Haggar landing a few strikes. Haggar landing a few strikes. Haggar lands some shots froms side control. Haggar has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Haggar has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Kersikov! Haggar postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Kersikov looks a forlorn figure.
Haggar looking to control but Kersikov is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Haggar looking to finish Kersikov with some ground and pound. This is bad for Kersikov! Haggar avoids the attempt from Kersikov to control. BOOM! Haggar connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Oooooh, big shot lands for Haggar! Kersikov is hurt baaadly! Haggar is firing away with more strikes - Kersikov is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
