Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jetmir Erminus! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 31 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Paulie Greene! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Dillan Fox and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Erminus connects with the punch. Greene cracks Erminus with an open hand slap. Erminus takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Greene throws a hook but Erminus avoids it easily. Greene fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Erminus has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Greene lands with a hook. Erminus tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Greene gets caught napping as Erminus dives in and scores a takedown. Greene manages to retain guard. Greene is working an open guard so Erminus takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Greene throws a leg kick that misses. Erminus attempts a counter takedown but Greene avoids it well and moves away. Erminus avoids a punch combination nicely.
This has been an exciting period of action! Good shot there by Greene. Erminus sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Erminus tries for a takedown but Greene sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Greene throws a leg kick and Erminus counters with a series of strikes. Greene will be more careful next time no doubt. Erminus takes a swing at Greene's ribcage but misses. Greene lunges at Erminus with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Erminus's hand. Greene lands with a shot to the body. Greene throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Paulie Greene seems to be getting the better of the standup. Erminus moves out of range of the strikes. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 38 - 19 - 2, fighting out of New York, Johnny Bronco! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 28 - 16 - 3, fighting out of New York, Grigoriy Petrov! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Trevor Gratis and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Petrov lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. We've been informed that Petrov has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Petrov tries to score with a low kick but Bronco moves his leg out of the way. Bronco on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Petrov. Petrov obviously looking to wear him down.
Grigoriy Petrov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nice straight punches there by Petrov. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Petrov. A swing and a miss from Petrov. Bronco slips a straight right by Petrov. Bronco lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Petrov jabbing away but nothing is landing. Bronco darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Bronco waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Petrov. Bronco wants to clinch up but Petrov keeps it at a distance.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A good leg kick by Petrov. Bronco fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Petrov on the side of the head. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Petrov lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Bronco has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Bronco and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Petrov gets caught flat footed, as Bronco shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Bronco working some strikes from top position. Petrov pulls Bronco in close to prevent any damage. Bronco throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Bronco trying to control the position from guard on top but Petrov is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Johnny Bronco will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. Petrov misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Petrov lands with a nice body punch. Bronco takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Bronco uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Petrov. Petrov's jab looks to have found its range, popping Bronco under the eye. Bronco looks to score with a jab to the body but Petrov is just out of range. Petrov misses with an uppercut. Petrov wants to slow Bronco down by chopping away at his legs. Bronco walks into a straight right hand from Petrov. Petrov fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Bronco on the side of the head. Bronco ducks under a wild hook from Petrov. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Petrov looks to throw the jab but Bronco is out of range. Petrov stuffs the takedown. Donk. Petrov catches Bronco right on the button with a cross. No luck for Bronco with that takedown attempt. Petrov doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
That's one minute gone in the round. A decent looking cross lands there for Petrov. Bronco is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Petrov cracks Bronco with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Bronco throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Grigoriy Petrov is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Bronco lands a head shot. Bronco fails with an attempt to clinch.
Bronco shoots for a double leg takedown but Petrov sprawls well. He's pushed Bronco's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Johnny Bronco. That's going to take a lot out of him. Petrov throws out a loose jab but Bronco uses good head movement to avoid it. Bronco tries to close the distance and clinch but Petrov swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Petrov throws a looping overhand right but Bronco ducks down to avoid it. Petrov with the inside leg kick. A left lands for Petrov. Petrov uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Bronco has time to react. A looping hook to the body misses from Petrov. Bronco does a little dance to reset his feet. Petrov avoids the body shot from Bronco.
Petrov bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Petrov lets loose with a powerful body kick. Bronco will feel that in the morning.

Bronco shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Petrov but Petrov pushes him off and we're back to square one. Petrov swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. A jab from Bronco misses. Bronco clinches up with Petrov and pushes him back against the cage. Bronco tries a body shot but Petrov blocks it.

Petrov gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Bronco tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Petrov paws at him with a jab and circles away. Petrov misses with an uppercut
and Bronco counters with a lovely straight right hand! Petrov stuns Bronco with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Bronco staying out of range there. Petrov throws a nice inside leg kick. A low kick lands for Petrov.

Bronco connects with a right hand. Petrov shakes it off. Petrov ducks under a wild hook from Bronco. Bronco closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Bronco is really struggling to control Petrov but he's trying to hold on to the position. Johnny Bronco overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Petrov utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Bronco advances to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Petrov is not content to let Bronco control the position. Bronco throwing shots but Petrov is blocking nicely. Bronco looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
