Lamont's great grandfather fought in World War I and was decorated for bravery. His grandfather became a middleweight boxer who went toe to toe with Jake Lamotta, while holding regional titles. His father was a track star who competed in the 1980 olympics getting a silver in the triple jump. Lamont has been around sports all his life and as working as a New York City firefighter decided to pursue a desire for mma.
